What you can do with a vintage image

Well, I kept thinking of how could I do my business cards.. I wanted them to be romantic, vintage and if not asking too much.. floral..! Yes, I know my profile is seewing and I have seen a lot of beautifull vintage seewing images, but I wanted mine floral. Guess what, I found the perfect sweetest vintage image on Karen's blog from Graphics Fairy .

Ei bine, m-am tot gandit cum as putea sa-mi fac cartile de vizita.. Le vroiam romantice, vintage si daca nu ceream prea mult.. florale..! Da, stiu ca profilul meu este cusutul si am vazut deasemenea o multime de imagini vintage despre cusut, dar pe ale mele le vroiam florale. Si ghiciti ce, am gasit cea mai dulce si perfecta imagine pe blogul lui Karen de la Graphics Fairy.

With a bit of patient and a bit of imagination, I created my business cards and I'm proud to tell you that everyone who saw them, appreciated my creativity and most of all the perfect result.

Cu putina rabdare si putin imaginatie, am creat cartile mele de vizita si sunt mandra sa va spun ca toti cei care le-au vazut, au apreciat creativitatea mea si mai presus de tot rezultatul perfect.

Do or do not ETSY

Lately I'm thinking to open an Etsy store with handmade products and some vintage accessories. And I spent some time reading about Etsy conditions and some more time reading about PayPal.

It doesn't seam complicated and the fact that there are thousands or more sellers makes me sort of confident, but is it PayPal a safe way to sell on the internet?  I'd like to have some opinions from you, Etsy sellers. I think it would be an usefull thing not only for me, to start a conversation about Etsy rules, possibilities, problems and so on. 

In ultima perioada m-am gandit destul de mult sa-mi deschid un magazin Etsy cu produse handmade si cateva accesorii vintage. Si mi-am petrecut ceva timp citind despre conditiile Etsy si ceva mai mult timp citind despre PayPal.

Nu pare sa fie complicat si faptul ca sunt vanzatori mii sau poate mai mult imi ofera oarecare incredere, dar este PayPal o modalitate sigura de a vinde pe internet? Mi-ar placea sa primesc cateva opinii din partea voastra, vanzatori Etsy. Cred ca ar fi un lucru util si nu doar mie, sa deschidem o conversatie pe marginea regulilor Etsy, posibilitatilor, problemelor si asa mai departe.

Shabby furniture

I'm so excited that I will finally start redoing my bedroom. I will take a week off  from 28th of May to 02nd of June and I will do nothing else but painting, sanding, sewing and decorating. I can not wait..

First of all I'll paint the whole room white. I love white walls because they can offer the best background so I can add fabrics and colours as I like. Then I'll add the plinth, a 13 cm tall english plinth made for me by my mother's cousin . The flooring is already installed,is laminate but for now it is just ok. Then the best part will come, decorating.

Sunt asa de incantata ca in sfarsit voi incepe redecorarea dormitorului meu. Imi voi lua o saptamana de concediu incepand cu 28 mai pana pe 02 iunie si nu voi face altceva decat vopsit, smingheluit , cusut si decorat. De-abia astept..

Mai intai de toate voi vopsi toata camera alba. Iubesc peretii albi pentru ca ofera cel mai bun fundal asa ca pot adauga textile si culori dupa plac. Apoi voi monta plinta, o plinta englezeasca de 13 cm inalta, facuta pentru mine de catre verisorul mamei mele.Parchetul este deja instalat, este laminat dar pentru moment este tocmai bun.

The two chairs and table set -  Here is missing the countertop of the table because when I bought them I removed it so they can fit in car and then I always hoped to have time for the redo.

Cele doua scaune cu masa - Aici lipseste blatul mesei pentru ca atunci cand le-am cumparat am demontat blatul ca sa intre in masina si apoi am sperat mereu sa am timp sa le redecorez. 

I have an old wood bed who belonged to my cousin's neighbor . I will paint it and give him a new life. I'm not sure if I'll paint him white with a distressed look or I'll give him some pale grey tone. For sure I'll add some decorations . Then I have those lovely wood chairs completed with the wood curved table, all brown wich I'll paint in a bright colour. Unfortunately, here in Romania we don't have Chalk Paint or any other paint in old or vintage shades. So usually I mixe up white with all the colours, a bitt of that, a bit more of the otherone and so on untill I get the shade I want. Comming back to the things I have to do, I also have an old simple wood table that will become my work table. Last summer I tried to give it a new life ,painting the legs with a colourless white and the countertop in a washy white-grey colour. The countertop I like a lot, but I will repaint the legs. Here is the picture of the countertop. I love the old look.  What do you think ?

Am unvechi pat din lemn care a apartinut vecinei verisoarei mele. Il voi vopsi si ii voi da o noua viata. Nu sunt sigura daca il voi vopsi alb cu o infatisare shabby sau ii voi da o nuanta pala de gri. In mod sigur ii voi adauga cateva decoratiuni. Apoi am cele doua scaune dragute din lemn completate cu masa frumos lucrata din lemn curbat, toate intr-o culoare maro mat pe care le voi vopsi intr-o culoare luminoasa. Din pacate, aici in Romania nu avem Chalk Paint sau orice alt tip de vopsea in nuante vintage. Asa ca de obicei amestec alb cu toate culorile, putin din asta, putin din cealalta si asa mai departe pana cand obtin nuanta pe care o vreau. Revenind la lucrurile pe care le am de facut, mai am si o masa veche simpla din lemn care va deveni masa mea de lucru. Vara trecuta am incercat sa-i dau o noua viata, vopsind picioarele intr-un alb sters si blatul intr-un alb-gri spalacit. Blatul imi place foarte mult, dar voi revopsi picioarele. Aici in fotografie este blatul. Imi place aspectul vechi. Voi ce ziceti ?

Changing the subject, next weekend I'll be on the next Handmade Fair , so I have little time to prepare all. This time I have to choose my cards design and stamp a few. I also have to buy another table to exhibit my products, a bigger one. So see you soon friends!

Schimband subiectul, weekend-ul viitor voi participa la urmatorul Targ Handmade, asa ca am putin timp la dispozitie pentru a pregati totul. De data aceasta trebuie sa aled designul cartilor mele de visita si sa printez cateva. In plus trebuie sa cumpar o noua masa pentru a expune produsele mele, una mai mare. Asa ca pe curand ,prienteni ! 

  

THIRD HANDMADE FAIR

I promissed you a post about the last Handmade I were so here I am. I have to say it was the first fair I participated outdoor and I like it. The weather was good,warm, almost hot I should say , only the second day we had some wind blowing away our handmade products...

V-am promis un post despre ultimul Targ handmade la care am participat asa ca iata-ma. Trebuie sa spun ca a fost primul targ exterior la care am participat si mi-a placut. Vremea a fost buna, caldut, chiar cald as putea spune, doar in cea de-a doua zi a batut putin vantul...

My dolls are allways making waves through the visitors and I sold Jane, you can see her in this post. I also sold the Vintage pillow case you can see here, and some brand new pillows that I haven't got the time to take pictures. I was told to do blond dolls so for the next time i'll prepare some.

Papusile mele intotdeauna fac valuri printre visitatori si am vandut-o pe Jane , pe care o puteti vedea in aceasta postare. Am vandut si fata de perna Vintage pe care o puteti vedea aici, si unele perne noi noute pe care nu am avut timp sa le fotografiez. Mi s-a spus sa fac si papusi blonde asadar voi pregati cateva pentru data viitoare.

I made some new models of bags : shopping bags, clutches, baby purses and messenger bags. Well, I still have to exercise on that, but for the beggining it's just fine. And I was asked about baby dresses and hats. It's on my to do list !! To be sincere, it was one of the things I wanted to do but I didn't had time...

Am facut cateva noi modele de genti : genti de cumparaturi, plicuri, gentute de copilasi si genti de postas. Ei bine, inca mai trebuie sa exersez la capitolul acesta, dar pentru inceput este multumitor. Si am fost intrebata de rochite de copilasi si palariute. Sunt pe lista mea de lucruri de facut !! Sa fiu sincera, era unul dintre lucrurile pe care vroiam sa le fac dar nu am mai avut timp..

For the next fair I'll have to find a new way to expose my products because a table and a vertical metal stand is not enough for me. And the space we get is only 1.50 mt long. As you can see, my products aren't heavy, but they are voluminous and as much I'd like to give my table an artistic arrangement, it allways seams too crowded..

Pentru urmatorul targ va trebui sa gasesc o noua modalitate de a expune produsee pentru ca o masa si un stand vertical nu sunt suficiente pentru mine. Si spatiul pe care il avem la dispozitie este lung de doar 1.50 mt . Asa cum puteti vedea, produsele mele nu sunt grele, dar sunt voluminoase si oricat as incerca sa ofer mesei mele un aranjament artistc, intotdeauna arata prea aglomerata..

Have you any suggestions of how could I organise my table? What kind of arrangement do those of you that participate to handmande fairs ?

Aveti sugestii despre cum as putea sa organizez masa ?  Ce fel de aranjamente folositi voi cei care participati la targuri handmade ?

It's all for today, I running to do some Easter preparations. You know, Sunday is Easter here in Romania, for orthodox christians, so HAPPY EASTER YOU ALL !!!!!

Cam atat pentru astazi, fug sa mai fac unele pregatiri pentru Paste. Stiti, Duminica este Pastele aici in Romania, pentru crestinii ortodocsi, asa ca PASTE FERICIT TUTUROR !!!!!!
