Hy my friends! I'm so happy that today I will finaly decorate my Christmas Tree . And hopefully my house too..
Today I want to show you some pretty baskets I sew using a tutorial that one of my friends gave it to me,but I can find now the source of the tutorial .. Anyway is very simple to do. In fact I am going to make some more for the Chirstams. It could make a beautiful gift!

Buna prieteni!

Sewing Tips & Home Living Friday Party #02

Dear friends, it was a full week for me and from my point of view, I am far away from the week-end. And tonight I am really exausted...But it's party time!!

First I would like to thank you to you, sweet ladies that you have joined my party. It was a honour for me to have you here, encouraging me. And because I am so thankfull to you, I decided to feature you all, so...

Thank you, dear Shelia from Note Songs! All your dolls are simply adorable

Thank you, dear Donna from Donna's Lavender Nest ! I follow with interest your Quilt Block Sampler

Thank you, dear Jann from Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson ! I like all of your posts and I am delighted that you made by yourself this beautiful quilt

And thank you to you,Cara from Pink Stitches ! I love your projects, they are all gorgeous

As I promissed, I will share with you a sewing tip. It's a simple one, and perhaps some of you already knew that.. I'll show you how to make some bias tape, when you don't have a bias making tool and you can not either find the right bias tape as you need..
Step one. Cut a long strip of your fabric (the lenght you need) and double the width you need as in the picture.

Step two. Start folding the edges and iron, helping yourself with your fingers.

Step three. You're done! You have your bias tape from the fabric you needed.

Now let's have some party !!

(P.S. I continue telling to myself that maybe this party it's not such a good idea since I don't have enough time to spend for my blog... What do you think I should do? Going on with the party and hoping to gather sewing enthusiasts someday or should I stop?)

Sewing Tips & Home Living Friday Party #01

Oh, I am so glad to start my own linky party! And what time could be better than Christmas time ?? When we all enjoy spending more time inside of our homes, with our families, maybe crafting or dying something for Chirstimas...

Perhaps you've already seen my party button I added on my sidebar. I called it "Sewing Tips & Home Living Friday"(P.S. I found my button background on Mel's blog from Mel Stampz, she has a lot of gorgeous templates and digital freebies) as I would like to share with you my passion for sewing and for home decorations. I hope this party will be a place where you will love to gather and share your ideas and experiences. It's all about passions, family, homes and most of all is about creating a beautiful life..So feel free to be part of the enjoyment ! And feel free to grab my button on your blog so you can spread the word about the newest linky party born today !

And as I said first, I will share with you weekly, some sewing projects of my own and here is the first project. I'm making some Christmas tree decorations from red felt..Angels

There are very simple steps to make this cute angels and I'll show you how to do them. First you'll need  red felt and an angel pattern. I found mine on Rasberry Collections. Then place your felt fold in double and draw the angel shape then cut out .

Then start sewing by hand, a beautiful hand stitch on the edges with white thread. I use to fold thread in four so it becomes more thick.
A tip - I NEVER do a knot thread when I hand sew. So what I do is fold the thread double so the final end of the thread become slike a loop. For better understanding, see the next pictures..

When you sew the angel's head, pay attention to insert a ribbon loop as a hanger. When finishing your hand stitch, tye a bow from a delicate ribbon as a belt. And your angel is ready!!

Now let's get the party started !!

There are a few rules, so will all enjoy the party, in full respect for each others:

1. It would be nice of you to become a follower of Shabby Criss
2. Link up a specific post and not your entire blog. You can add maximum three posts of yours on each party.
3. Feel free to grab my button and please add my party link on your post so you can spread the word.
4. Your comments make my day so leave your impressions here.

My lovely doll Anna

My lovely Anna! I made her several weeks a go, but I didn't had time to take some satisfying pictues. And I am not pretending that this one are good either..
Scumpa mea Anna!

Anna is entirely made after my own pattern and I used high quality fabrics. And as you see, she wears an elegant hairstyle with white flowers through her braindings.

Hugs, Cristina !

Tutorial - I DID IT !!!.... I've printed on fabric !!

I finally did it ! I can't believe it's that simple. And you don't need nothing fancy smancy to do it. Oh, you know how stubborn I am and my brain wheels continued to spin until I finally got the idea. All the printing on fabric methods needed to attach something stiff on fabric so it could pass through the printer. But IF I could make the fabric solid so it could pass through the printer by its own ??? And that's how it came to me the idea..

You will only need a water basin, a cup of sugar and fabric by your wish. For 500 ml of water I used sort of 100-150 gr of sugar  - the more concentrated it will be, much better result you will have. You have to melt the sugar in the water ( I used hot water since it mealts faster ), then put your fabric in the sweet water. Be sure the all fabric gets wet and leave it for about 5 minutes in the water. Then gently squeeze the fabric with your hands and let the fabric dry over night. In the morning iron your fabric and cut A4 pieces. Then PRINT ! I used a laserjet printer and I only had to choose "rough paper" instead of "plain". It's easy like that...

Now let's pass over my printed message. It should be "Merry Christmas !", but in my fuzzy brain, I was used to print images backward for my aceton transfer so I didn't realize that this time the message has to be normal . But you've got the idea, it does print well on fabric... :) And I was too happy to show you I did it, to wait redo the all process...

Acum haideti sa trecem peste mesajul meu printat.

I didn't took pictures of the steps, but I think you all got the idea of how to do..If need ,please write me and I'll take pictures, with a new message maybe :)

So, what you think? Isn't it an easy way to print on fabric?? Let me know if you try it.

Wear It Pink Day

I usually don't write Friday, but today I have something to say. It's WEAR IT PINK Day. It's the fundraising day for the Breast Cancer Campaign in England and I support their event. So if you are heading to England or you live there and you would like to get involved, click on www.wearitpink.org  . And if you are like me, anywhere else in the world, just wear something pink and let your heart be with all breast cancer fighters.

In the world, 1st of Octomber is the International Day of Breast Cancer Campaign ,but I think any day of the year has to be built with good thoughts and support for all those who have been touched by breast cancer. Thank you Jacqueline @ Home for spreading the news of Wear It Pink..

Tricky and his friend

How about some new autumn dolls? A few time a go I saw on the holly internet, a strange little monkey. It wasn't really a monkey but I wouldn't know how to call it. His legs and arms had curved endings and a big ruffled mantle..  So I liked the idea but I wanted something a bit different, and I started creating my own pattern. I'm not very good at drawing but I think something good resulted.. Please meet Tricky and his friend..

First I started making burlap flowers..

Then I started to create flower vases using twine..

Pumpkin tutorial

Hy friends! I recently made some pumpkins for my own home, from fabric and I would like to share with you how simple is to make them. I do not reclaim that this is the only way to do them or that my way is good, nor that I invented the way and for sure I am not the only one explaining how to do them..

Buna prieteni!

You will only need a piece of fabric that you like, stuffing, needle and thread, 30-40 cm of black or brown cotton ribbon and a bit of hot glue.. You will start by drawing a circle on your fabric. Bigger the circle is, bigger ti will be your pumpkin. Consider that for a 15 cm diameter pumpkin, you will need a 40 cm diameter circle of fabric.

Then you will start to baste the edges of the fabric, folding the edges about an 1/2 inches. I reccomend you to use very thick thread as you will use it to tie the pumpkin at the end.

After completing the thread circle on the edges, you can start stuffing the pumpkin..

Then tie very well the opening. You will see it still remains a small opening. Don't panic ! I use this opening to put some more stuffing and the same opening it will be used for the handle.

Then start creating the pumpkin's folds using thick thread and pulling hard while you divide the slices.

Now you only have to create the handle. Using the black cotton ribbon, start wraping the ribon using hot glue, like in the above picture. When you have a 6-7 cm handle long, you can secure the ribon edge, aply a big amount of hot glue on the end of the handle and stick the handle in the pumpkin's opening about an inch and hold for several seconds.

There you have your handmade pumpkin. It takes about 15 minutes to make one..
Si iata dovlecelul vostru. Dureaza cam 15 minute sa faci unul...

What do you think? Do you like them? Do you think they are easy to make?
Ce credeti? Va plac? Credeti ca sunt usor de facut?

Hugs, Cristina
